Here at New Boots, our priority is always going to be championing the Northamptonshire music scene, the acts and venues based in the county, and those heading here to play.

However, there’s fantastic venues and promoters ‘across the border’ who are doing equally great things.

With that in mind, today marks the first of what is (hopefully) going to be a quick weekly rundown of what some of the gigs venues nearby have coming up in the coming seven days which may be worthy of your attention.

DUB PISTOLS
Saturday, October 6th
Esquires, Bedford
After a cracking headline set at Bedford’s River Festival this year, The Pad Presents are bringing Dub Pistols back to the region. Mixing equal parts rock, big beat, dub and electronica, the band released their latest album Crazy Diamonds in 2017. Doors open at 8pm, tickets cost £15 in advance before fees.

ENSLAVED
Saturday, October 6th
The Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes
Enslaved are out on a short UK tour and headline the Craufurd Arms on Saturday. The Extreme metal five piece from Norway blend their sound with progressive, melodic rock and in 2017 picked up the Norwegian Album of The Year Grammy award for their LP E. Support is by Svalbard and KRAKOW. Doors open at 7.30pm, tickets cost £16 in advance before fees.

DR FEELGOOD
Saturday, October 6th
The Assembly, Leamington Spa
‘Pub rockers’ Dr Feelgood may not have released an album for some time, but they’re still live favourites on the gig circuit. Ahead of joining The Stranglers on tour next year, they’re playing across the UK – including a gig in Northampton in November. Before then, you can catch them this weekend in Leamington. Doors open at 7pm, tickets cost £17.68.

THE MOMS
Sunday, October 7th
The Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes
New Jersey DIY power rock trio The Moms are in the UK touring in support of last year’s LP Doing Asbestos We Can. Support at the Craufurd Arms is by The Run Up, The Dead Melody and Safest Spaces. Doors open at 7.30pm, tickets cost £6 before fees.

BARB JUNGR & JOHN McDANIEL
Sunday, October 7th
The Stables, Wavendon
Singer songwriter Barb Junger is teaming up with John McDaniel at The Stables for a night which will be exploring the music of Sting. Doors open at 8.45pm, tickets cost £20 in advance before fees.
