Richard Ashcroft Bitter Sweet Symphony

It was considered too extreme in 1997, but finally all these years later we get the chance to see the OTHER version of the ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ video from director Walter A. Stern

The Bitter Sweet Symphony video is an iconic moment in ’90s music. If you are short on time, skip directly to 2.51 in – that’s the moment the video diverts from the standard version to the alternative idea. In this other universe singer Richard Ashcroft is beaten by three assailants, the rest of the Verve give him a withering look, and he walks on to a closed door – and his finger gets the final say.

How or why this has surfaced over twenty years later no one seems to know. Regardless, it’s great see to more prime-era Verve footage!
