More than 40 years after he recorded his first album Golden Vanity, Martin Simpson is renowned as a guitarist of formidable talent. Equally at home playing English traditional folk, American folk and blues and his own compositions, he is consistently named as one of the finest fingerstyle guitar players in the world. Following support slots with the likes of Sam Fender, Foals and The Amazons, a run of sold out Northern dates, huge festival slots across the country and acclaimed releases, Newcastle indie-rock outfit The Pale White are headlining The Craufurd Arms. Their latest single Unnatural is out now. Doors 7.30pm, tickets £8.

TRASH KIT

Trashkit released their new album Horizon earlier this year and have previously shared stages with the likes of Deerhoof and The Ex as well as playing at Stewart Lee’s ATP Festival and at Thurston Moore’s 60th birthday party. For fans of The Raincoats, The Slits, Marnie Stern and rhythmic guitar music. Doors 8pm, tickets £7.

COLLAPSED LUNG

Collapsed Lung gained prominence with their hit football anthem Eat My Goal. Support at MK11 is by Wah Wah Club and Candidates. Doors 8pm, tickets £6.

SMITH & BREWER

Ben Smith and Jimmy Brewer met at an event organised by Joan Armatrading for the acts she had chosen to support her on her 2015 tour. Since then, they have performed across the UK, notably as the support act to 10cc and Ralph McTell. They recently finished work on their debut album, Another Shade Of. Doors 8.45pm, tickets £10.

PULLED APART BY HORSES

Leeds’ alt rock four piece Pulled Apart By Horses will be road testing material expected to feature on their fifth album on this short UK run of dates. The band’s latest LP The Haze was released in 2017. Support by Baba Naga and Faces Of Eve. Doors 8pm, tickets £11.

MUSICIANS AGAINST HOMELESSNESS

Ian Guillermo and Dudes, Jacobi Maro, NOVA, LestWeForget, Longbottom Leaf and Cerberus will all be playing at this charity gig which is raising money for Musicians Against Homelessness. There will also be food stalls including AVegetativeState. Doors 2pm, tickets £5.

MAN
Monday, September 30
The Stables, Milton Keynes
With roots firmly planted in the fertile ground of the South Wales rock scene, Man were formed in 1968 and, pausing for a brief intake of breath in the late 1970s, have continued as a recording and gigging to this day. 2018 marked the 50th anniversary of the band. Expect some old classics and new songs with a new studio album also scheduled for release. Support is by Edgar Broughton. Doors 8pm, tickets £17.50.

TIDES FROM NEBULA
